financial adviser - strategy & planning
Ultimately, people we work with all want the same thing – to have some certainty around where they’re headed and the confidence to know they can make it happen. Our dreams are our goals waiting for an action plan.
Hi, I’m Amanda.
I love personal financial planning because of the power it has to pull all of the pieces of your financial life together into something that feels cohesive and achievable - bringing your ‘why’ together with your ‘how’ on your terms is an epic combination!
I come from a family where my parents worked really hard to achieve financial independence and retire before 65. They were not millionaires, just really good at managing their cashflow and being mindful about their spending. It taught me to be careful and diligent with money, but not at the expense of having fun along the way. These are the same lessons I try to teach my kids now too. None of us are born knowing everything there is to know about personal finances – we all learn as we go.
My background is varied – I’ve worked in tertiary education, corporate training and event management (very briefly!) before taking a segway into financial services. I worked for a major life insurer for 10 years and then jumped the fence to work in a financial advisory practice focused on insurance, KiwiSaver and managed fund investment.
I moved to Guardian after working with Amy on my own financial plan, and experiencing first-hand the confidence and certainty that it provides. My main motivation is to help other Kiwis have the same experience and because of that, financial services may well be my professional home for life.
Personally, I’ve been married, separated, a homeowner and a ‘rent-vestor’. My biggest takeaway from these life experiences is that there’s not a singular ‘right’ way to get to where you want to go – it’s all about making a series of informed choices that help to create the life you want to live.
If you’re ready to start joining the dots of your financial life together, let’s chat.
Most people don’t need more information.
They need someone to join the dots and say:
“Here’s what you’ve got”
“Here are your options”
“Here’s a simple plan”
“I’ll sort this for you”
That’s the way I work - practical, calm, and straightforward.
How it works
Step 1 - Quick chat
We’ll talk about where you’re at, what you want to achieve, and where you’d like some guidance. If I can help, I’ll let you know what working together could look like and any fees involved.
Step 2 - Make a plan
We’ll work through the bigger picture and create a clear strategy, so you know what to do next and why.
Step 3 - Make it happen (and keep moving forward)
A plan is only valuable if you put it into action. We’ll help you follow through, keep things moving, and turn your plan into real financial progress.
Simple. Clear. Done with you.
Holistic Support
The Guardian Difference
I’m part of the team at Guardian, which means if you need help beyond planning and investment - you’re not on your own.
If your situation calls for it, we can bring in support around things like mortgages and insurance; so everything stays aligned and joined up.
I actually came to Guardian as a client first. What stood out to me was the holistic approach - everything was looked at together, not in silos. Mortgages, KiwiSaver, budgeting, investing, and long-term goals were all aligned.
That experience played a big part in why I chose to join the team.

How it works
Do you charge for a chat?
Nope. First chat is just a no-pressure conversation to see if I can help.
What does it cost to work with you?
It depends on the advice and support you need. If we think we can help, we’ll explain what working together could look like and any fees involved before you decide to go ahead. Check out our Packages page for our most popular options.
I know I should be doing more with my money, but I’m not sure what?
That’s exactly where many of our clients start. You don’t need to have the answers — that’s our job. We’ll help you get clear on your options, work out what makes sense for you, and create a plan for what to do next.
Can you help with investment property as well as other investments?
Absolutely. Whether you’re considering property, managed investments, KiwiSaver or a combination, we’ll look at the bigger picture and help you understand which strategies best fit your goals.
I haven’t looked at my KiwiSaver in years…
You’re not alone. We can review how your KiwiSaver is invested, whether it’s appropriate for your goals and timeframe, and make sure it forms part of your wider financial strategy rather than simply ticking along in the background.
Your Money. Your goals. One Clear Plan.
Money feels a lot easier when you know what to do next.
amanda helps bring your financial world together — from KiwiSaver and investing to property and your longer-term goals — so every decision is working towards the future you want to create.
No guesswork. No overwhelm. Just a clear plan and the confidence to move forward.
